Post-production is where the story really comes together. Which seems to state the obvious, but it’s not unusual for all sorts of unexpected ideas and opportunities to announce themselves in the editing room.
This is where experience comes in – to know when some elaborate graphic, inventive effect or snazzy cutting will tickle someone’s fancy at just the right time. Or, to know when the message is better served by resisting the effects and quick cuts, and just letting the story breathe and grow on its own.
